Two stages need two kinds of training
Constable recruitment run by the Central Selection Board of Constable, Bihar, typically includes a written examination and then a physical efficiency or standard test, followed by document verification and a final merit list. Candidates who prepare only for the written test are often unprepared when the physical stage is announced at short notice.
Written preparation
The written paper tests general knowledge, mathematics, reasoning and language ability at a basic level. Divide your study into short daily blocks.
Mathematics: percentages, ratio, average, simple interest, time and work, and number series.
General knowledge: Bihar and India basics, current events, sports and science.
Reasoning and language: analogies, series, grammar and comprehension.
Physical preparation
Check the current notice for the exact events, standards and measurements. Build endurance with running three to four days a week, add strength work and stretching, and increase distance gradually to avoid injury. Practise on the kind of ground or track used in the test, and do not train on an empty stomach.
A sample week
Morning: training, with running on alternate days and strength work on the others.
Day: two study blocks of 90 minutes each.
Evening: short revision and a light walk.
One day: full mock test, one day complete rest.
Documents are part of the exam
The board has repeatedly asked some candidates to bring original documents after a test stage because certificates were missing or details did not match. Common issues are certificates of the wrong financial year, spelling differences in names, and missing residence or category proofs. Collect originals early, check every spelling and keep photocopies.
Fake news and shortcuts
The board has published notices rebutting fake news about recruitment. Rely on its website for dates and rules, and never pay anyone who promises selection. Official recruitment does not involve paying for a seat.
Final week routine
Reduce hard training two or three days before a physical test, sleep well and eat normally. Carry your admit card, photo ID and the documents listed in the notice. Reach the venue early and listen carefully to instructions.
Sample four-week block before a physical test
In week one, run an easy distance three times and add two short strength sessions. In week two, increase the running distance a little and start timed efforts on the track once. In week three, repeat the timed effort twice, practise the other events listed in the notice and add stretching after every session. In week four, reduce the load, keep one timed practice early in the week and rest properly before the test. Keep studying through all four weeks, but reduce new topics and revise your notes.
Food, sleep and injury care
Eat simple, balanced meals with enough protein and water, and avoid heavy meals just before a session. Sleep seven to eight hours, since recovery is when training pays off. If a pain persists, rest and consult a doctor instead of pushing through, because an injury a week before the test costs more than a missed session.
