What UPSC announced
The press note dated 19 October 2026 covers the Combined Defence Services Examination (II) 2026, held on 13 September 2026. A total of 8,956 candidates qualified for Service Selection Board interviews for the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy courses.
Course start months
IMA 163rd (DE) course, INA Ezhimala and AFA Pre-Flying course: July 2027.
OTA Chennai 126th SSC (Men) and SSC Women (NT) (UPSC): October 2027.
What candidates must do
Candidature is provisional. Original proof of age, education and NCC claims goes to the service headquarters named in the note, never to UPSC.
Deadlines for originals: 1 July 2027 for IMA and INA, 13 May 2027 for AFA and 1 October 2027 for SSC courses.
Army-first-choice candidates register on joinindianarmy.nic.in to receive SSB call-ups, unless already registered.
