The advertisement of 5 May 2026 for the integrated 72nd Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination listed 22 posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police. Following a revision of vacancies by Bihar Police Service, the commission issued a corrigendum, signed on 3 September 2026.

The corrigendum states the total vacancies in the exam are now 1,187 and that all other conditions of the 5 May advertisement stand. An earlier corrigendum on the commission's list deleted 44 Sugarcane Officer vacancies.
